List and Glenn.

The following is the reply from my Narco-fixing friend.

My opinion is that his advice should be heeded!

Mac,

Yeah the Mk-12/A/B can't be used in aircraft because of
.003% xmit freq tolerance. The Mk-12 D is a all solid
state design that meets new spec....lot of them flying
(even though Narco is out of business).

Thompson's Aviation Warehouse (CA) is good source for books.

Actually makes more sense to just buy a scanner from
Radio Shack....heck of a lot less trouble!

Nick

Hello, Glenn.

The Narco MK 12 radios are all now banned from
use in aircraft. I have sent a bcc: copy to a friend
who USED to repair these things at an avionics shop
and continued to do so privately for many years until
about 10 years ago, if I recall.

I worked on a few of them myself at the other FBO at
Will Rogers Airport in OKC, but have no docs on them.
I really disliked them and preferred King avionics.

He MAY wish to contact you Glenn.
