A note of thanks to everyone who helped with
the dead 30L-1. It is back on the air.
The diagram pointed me in the right direction.

It was a wicked strange problem.
The ground at the filament center tap
terminal strip would go hi-Z with all the covers on
and the tubes lit, but when I took off the covers for
testing and set it on its side, the meter said it was
fine. The clue was a little bit of crud around the
ground screw head. I tightened it up about a quarter
turn (along with all the other ground screws I could find)
and that fixed it. 20 watts in from one of my little
mil rigs is now sending 200 watts out.
I should have known this, because tightening
the grounds is one of the first things I do
when working on a WWII set.

Now to hunt for a cabinet (like everyone else ;-).
Why are so many 30L-1s missing thier cabinet??

Thanks for your help.
