Thats OK for 24/7 but at a 50% duty cycle or less #12 and a 20A outlet is
fine, also much cheaper for the outlet and plug.
BTW, even ham RTTY is considered intermittent duty cycle.
I run #12 to all benches and on the repair one Ive worked on amps at 2500W+
out and the sag/DC regulation is still well under 10% key down and no cable
heat either.
