Grounded grids will work fine. No need for screen voltage.

Five hundred volts on the SG would raise the idling plate current a  
significant amount, probably to the point where the control grid would  
have to be disconnected from ground and a negative bias applied to  
keep the no-signal PA current within the dissipation rating of the  
tube.  Would negate the simplicity of the usual "both grids grounded"  
circuit for some problematical increase in gain (if any).
