I am in need of a piece of 1/4" (standard) flatted phenolic rotary
switch shaft minimum 4.5" long. I have a Johnson Matchbox which someone
applied a lot of torque to the bandswitch shaft when it was in a bind,
and sheared the phenolic shaft extension off just behind where it was
pinned to the slotted metal shaft. By removing the assembly screws, the
detent assembly, the mounting frame with bushing, and the switch
mounting bracket, I have managed to remove the shaft from the wafers
through the front of the switch without unsoldering any of the wafers
from the 12 AWG wire inside the Matchbox.

If I can find a replacement for this shaft, I believe I can get the old
Matchbox working again! If you have a switch with a phenolic extension
shaft at least 4.5" long, or even a piece of bare flatted phenolic
shaft stock of the minimum length, I should be able to fabricate a new
shaft. I'm perfectly willing to remove the pin and disassemble the
switch if you have one (I had to fabricate a .040 pin punch out of a
piece of stainless antenna rod, "twirl ground" against a fine wheel).

Please check your junque boxes! I sure would love to get this old girl
going! I'll pay a reasonable price for whatever you have to get me up
and running!

Let me know ...

Thanks!!!
