Any 5R4 type should work FB in a DX-100 or Viking.  The whole deal with 
5R4 seems to be the ability to work with 900 VAC per plate at altitudes 
up to 40,000 feet.  600 VAC at sea level is a cake walk. You can compare 
the data sheets by searching on 5R4 here:

The original "plain" 5R4-GY is in a "shouldered tube" ST-16 envelope.
5R4-GYA/GYB are in "tubular" T-12 envelopes.
5R4-WGA/WGB are in T-12 form factor with "skirted" bases.  These are 
"ruggedized" and subjected to a high level of inspection in manufacturer.

"Y" seems to be associated with the "micanol" (mica filled bakelite) bases.
