    It has been suggested that RCA should have sold the 
6146B under a different type number. There is little 
difference between the generic and A version but the B is 
really a different tube.
    W on a type number means only that it was made for a 
government contractor. W types may or may not have had 
special specifications.  It is sometimes possible to find 
out but often not.
