I have used this Enrico Fermi quote as my signature for another of my 
email addresses for years.  He was an Italian nuclear physicist who came 
to the University of Chicago just before the start of WWII.  He and his 
team built the first controlled nuclear reactor under the U of Chicago 
football stadium to proved the concept of nuclear fission.
