[Boatanchors] Would like to buy Ten Tec Argosy 525 for parts

Hi Roger,
I aperiodically troll on that bay place as well as on some of the ham
lists for IF filters. I often see filters for various radios listed
there. Almost always I am looking for something else (which I find) but
during the hunt I do notice those other "species". Check the bay and the
ads on QRZ. There may be other places. Prices vary all over the currency
spectrum.
Having said that:
In my Kenwood R-599 the CW filter stopped working. Everything but the
filter still worked. I could receive CW using the SSB, AM, or FM
filters. I found a bad solder joint on one of the terminals from the
filter at the circuit board. That was a factory defect as the radio had
no mods hacked into it anywhere (and still doesn't). Are you sure you
don't have something like that going on?
Good luck and...
73,
Bill KU8H
