Both my original WRL 755 VFO and the one that I now have are very stable on all bands. The original one had the selenium rectifier and my present one has had the rectifier replaced with a 1N4007.

I have a 755 and it is solid on 80 and 160 but on 40 and above it
drifts a lot. I have not gotten to it yet but I intend to try to
figure out what is wrong. I am using it right now with a Knight T-50
and about 2 feet of 8X cable.
The selenium recitifer should be replaced with a silicon diode that
can handle the v. and current in series with a v. dropping resistor
that can get the dc down about 30 or 40 v. My 755 was up around 220
or 230 v. DC following the selenium replacement and it is supposed to
be down around 170 or 180.
