Hi,
The thread got lost a little bit. The original post asked about having
to change the oil periodically. There was a reply about every so many
tuneups but I'm going to suggest that oil changes we all know about are
based on miles. So how many miles have you worked with your Cantenna?
Kidding aside, there shouldn't be any need to change the oil at all
unless you boil it all away. When it gets a quart low just top it off.
An additional comment was about Cantennas and MFJ and Drake (and
similar) dummy loads being useless..that reply specified frequencies
into the microwave spectrum. I think people who play with microwaves are
aware or soon will be about *different* requirements (for everything)
way up there. On forty meters I also find a copper toothpick useless as
an antenna. Works wonderfully @ 1 GHz. It's all relative. Light bulbs
make the the best dummy loads at 60 Hz!
