Jeeesh!
I only posted to report that I had found some satisfaction (Mouser). In
the meantime I have learned that I am even luckier to live where I do.
FedEx and UPS both bring my packages to the nearest hub, depot or
whatever they like to call it...90 minutes down to the south.
There..they hand it off to the post office who reliably deliver it to
me. If I pay enough money (I don't have that much) they will bring it in
person..next day delivery. I tried that once for five transistors a
neighbor wanted in his siren *ASAP*. Transistors cost 3 bucks. Shipping
was $80! Apparently it is cheaper for them to hand it off to USPS. I
guess it is even cheaper when I have things shipped via USPS right from
the start - no middle man. So that's what I do. UPS and FedEx don't work
here so I don't have those worries <grin>.
USPS will soon be bring me some more boat anchor parts.
