[Boatanchors] Heathkit HM-10-A Mods

Good Evening All,


        Hope everyone had a enjoyable Holiday. I am finally getting
around to finishing up some small project that have been sitting on the
bench. I own a few GDO's( Millen, Heathkit, Eico). The Heathkit Tunnel
Dipper is a nice little devise. But I find the meter set point control is
very touchy. I found an article in and old issue of 73 magazine about
replacing the control with a lower value and adding two fixed resistors
to make up the original value. Has anyone ever performed this
modification. the article also so suggested replacing the meter amp
transistor with one with a higher Ft. I have the control and resistors on
hand, but would have to order the transistor. Any feed back would be
welcomed. TIA.
