[Boatanchors] Hakko 470 delsoldering unit with 802 gun

Greetings, can someone with a Hakko 470 desoldering unit tell me if
the unit is temperature controlled? I have the gun but it only has 2
wires from the heater whereas later units had 4 wires with 2 for the
sensor. So the 2 wire heater on the 802 gun may regulate the heat via
sensing the changing resistance of the heating element. The other
opinion is that the 470 controller is just a 24 volt "dimmer" stlye
control that just sets the heat but does not maintain it or
compensate as a sensor style would.

I have a Maddel unit coming for the gun but it uses the 4 wire heater
and will need to fiddle to get it to work with Hakko gun.

A schematic would be wonderful, as far as my extensive searching on
the net for a pile of years there is none to be had. Anyone feel like
tackling such an adventure?

I had the pleasure of helping with the creation of the Hakko 936
schematic recently since there was none available for this popular
soldering iron, despite several fake and faulty versions floating
about. For those that had looked for years for one and had no luck,
try Google again.

Dave
