True enough, Mark. It has less to do with 'need' on ten meters, but a
lot to do with 'mindset' overall. Even now, activity on HF appears way
down to the ears of many from even a few years ago, aside from a few
areas with self-selected congestion and the associated frequency
ownership issues. I suppose it depends which camp you're in: creating
on-air activity or waiting/listening for someone else to create it so
that you can join in at your leisure. Once upon a time, the latter
worked well due to numbers, smaller slices to operate voice, and so
on. Not so anymore, if internet carping is any indication.
It's what we make it. Regardless of where you are on the band, if
you're only listening and not transmitting, the band will appear dead.
