Just wanted to let everyone know about the results of the Firesale I put on at Shelby last weekend.
Many firemen showed up and put the fire out for about 90 percent of the "must go" went. It was a pleasure doing business with everyone and
It was a win-win situation all the way. And I'm sure the new Collins owners will be happy with their new gear.
The only item that did not sell was the GRC-9 rig. Probably because I went on the table too late in the fest and you can't buy or at least chat up what you can't see.
On the final day of the fest, I spoke with the gentleman that had the Viking 500 without the cabinet -PS/modulator deck - 4-400 tube for sale,Price $200 and the correct front panel "launch" key was included. After I realized what was up there was a loud sonic boom as my wallet came out of my pocket.
A couple of hours later a gentleman that re-builds 500's swung by looking for the 500 he had seen. Turns out he has spare 500 modulator iron in the exact replacement format and other direct replacements but will not fit into the Johnson PS/Mod chassis. Estimated cost for purchase and repair to on the air is $300 to $350. Am I gloating? of course I am.
Other things were found but not in the BA style so I will Skip them for now.
I want to thank everyone that gave me help due to my current physical condition: Phil Shore, Al Parker, and the gentleman that gave me his shady spot to sell from (he left early) and of the volunteer fire brigade. If I forgot to mention you, I'm sorry.
