[Boatanchors] Globe Scout 40A Questions

Bo ught a 40A in need of repair, w hile there is lot of info on the later Globe Scouts ( and I own a 680  ) , am not finding lot of info on this one.  I have ordered a copy of the manual, but would appreciate corresponding with someone who owns one in working order.  Never owned one back in the 60s and didn't know anyone who owned one then.  In particular am curious about the color scheme of the original.  This one's faceplate is a dark grey and seems to be original, the case being a lighter shade and I am suspecting it is not original color.  I have seen pictures on the web with various color schemes and wonder what is the correct original.
