[Boatanchors] How to restore front panels and cabinets

Wanting to restore the front panel of an old transmitter to original 
appearance, but know nothing about silkscreening.  Am guessing the process 
would somehow involve photographing the original panel, editing the 
photograph to correct flaws, refinishing the panel with the original base 
color, then silkscreening on the lettering & logo.  What are the resources 
available to have this task performed, am looking for a professional
