I am an ex-Heathkit technician and an ISCET Certified Electronics Technician
and have been a ham for 52 years. It's time to make some room here. I'd like
to sell three of my National receivers (ideally to the same person as a
package). I am keeping my HRO-60 (for now).
For starters, I have a recently re-capped NC-173 in very good working
condition. It has some spots on the panel and enclosure that were rusty and
have been re-touched, but the paint doesn't match. The engraving is fair.
All knobs are original; one main tuning knob is missing the chromed metal
insert ring. The dials are really nice, with no slippage at all. The chassis
is very clean, with no rust or corrosion. Electrically, this receiver works
well and is stable and sensitive. New tubes have been installed as needed,
and all tubes checked on a TV/7 tester. It has a solid-state rectifier to
take the filament load off the power transformer.
The second receiver up for sale is a National NC-57. It has also been
re-tubed and serviced. Someone once cut a hole in the front panel for an
S-meter, but that has been removed and restored. It was recently aligned and
tested. it works quite nicely. Six meter reception is the pits.
Lastly, for you nostalgia folks, I have a nice working SW-54 AC/DC receiver.
It was recently re-tubed as needed and aligned and tested.
Make me a reasonable offer on all or any one of these.
Thanks for reading.
