[Boatanchors] Craig's List

I've used Craigslist successfully numerous times. The only problem that I
had, and not too much of a problem, was when I had my 1977 motorhome listed
I got offers to trade it for boats and other nonsense. I guess from their
perspective what does it hurt to ask but when I said no to those items I
never heard any more from them.
Another site that I have bought a couple of items from is IOffer.com. It is
not an auction site but rather a fixed price or a make an offer site. It
looks and feels similar to eBay and you can even transfer you eBay feedback
status which gives some credibility to you if you have good feedback in
eBay. There is a fee to sell but I never sold, only bought there. I don't
think it get too much traffic though.

Subject: [Boatanchors] Craig's List
I am very interested in posting some my radios on Craig's list rather than
Ebay.
Would someone like to share his experiences. I assume that they do expect a
fee if you sell your item?
Prefer pickup near Johnstown, PA
Recently, I went to Grand Rapids, MI to purchase from an estate some Collins
pieces rather than to see it bought by a dealer who would sell off the parts
and make a hefty profit. I am seeing more of this practice on Ebay.
"Slicing" up a 75A-4 or 32V or 51S-1 is being done with regularity these
days where the parts are worth more than the price of the Collins itself.
Enough already and off my soapbox. The trip was nearly 1,000 miles round
trip in the rain. Lesson: you have to travel if you are serious. The
equipment is now resting comfortably at the Collins Radio Center.
I may sell some pieces if someone wants to travel.
Thank you
