Well i've got the PA chassis out of the HB tx i bought about a month back.  Had to replace the filter caps in the bias circuitry underneath.  Then i found the Mica loading caps leaking.  3 out of 4 were doing so, at least i have one decent one left.  All are identical: .0003ufd @ 3Kv, .75 amps @ 1000Kc.  I bet there are lots of them laying around somewhere, yep, sure there are.....  Had to tear the big roller inductor off the top of the chassis because with it in place i couldn't get to the screws for the loading caps.  Oh yeah, forgot.  Big variable cap in the antenna circuit side couldn't rotate all the way around because of the way a 20K 25 watt resistor was mounted.  I suspect that was involved in the failure of the loading caps.  Had to change it's mounting arrangements so now thats fixed.  Traced all the below chassis wiring, now to decipher my drawings.  Things are looking up!
 
What a project but its fun and i'm enjoying the experience.  Still got a ways to go before it becomes operational.  YEAH, 4-250 and 100th tubes glowing brightly.
