I too have a "C" but mine has an additional tag indicating it is modified to "S" which makes it equivalent to "R".My understanding is that the "C" does not have the L.F. Band.

 I  had a  Lightning Strike do a ''thorough number'' on my BC-348C which

 those years..---- I need the appropriate manual to refresh my memory

 I  have many of the very similar BC-348 manuals which allowed me to get 
 this torched Boatanchor going again ,but i would really like to find a 
 manual for the ''C'' version to be sure,not to miss anything.

 Not sure,if Bama ever had a ''C'' manual,there is none at this time.---Can 
 anyone lead me to a source ???
