I had an R-388/URR for years.  It is a military 51J-3 actually I think.

The absolute BEST accessory you can EVER add to one of these is a Central 
Electronics model "B" Sideband Slicer!  They are very easily retuned to 500 
khz with no modifications and make the R-388 a very excellent SSB receiver.
