Hi Henry, Joe, et al,
	Joe, thanks for your endorsement.  I saw Henry's first note and really 
didn't realize I'd done so much work on R-388's.  I do like them very 
much, I guess next to SP-600's ;-)  The PTO span is the major issue 
usually, and bathtub caps are usually leaky.  You do need to watch the 
bias voltage, it tends to go too much negative with our higher line 
voltages, a bucking xfmr is useful to help that, but it may not be as 
much of an issue at Henry's QTH.
	A product detector makes them a great ham-band cruiser, and doesn't 
detract from AM.
	Now that my BBOD filled leaky memory has been refreshed, I'd be glad to 
try to answer any questions you might have, Henry.
