Adding to Dennis's post: The West Coast Vintage Sideband Round Table has
been going for nearly a year, I think, and we normally get 30+ checkins,
many with interesting and unusual gear. Friendly, informal group. Due to
the great response, there is also an informal group on Thursday evenings as
well. 3830 Tuesday and Thursday at 7 PM Pacific.
Mike, NU6X, maintains an email list, and it's common for people to send a
post to all with a photo of the equipment being used. Contact him: Mark
Mumaw [vintage.ssb.roundtable at gmail.com] to get on the list.
Another nice touch started recently. In addition to the usual recital of
equipment, etc, there has been a "topic." For instance, each checkin was
asked to reminisce about "the one that got away," and comment on a piece of
equipment on the "dream list."
I've checked in with more than 10 different rigs so far:
HT32/HW100/HW101/HW12,Marauder, GSB100, CE20A,SB401, and a couple more!
