[Boatanchors] Heathkit power cords

The Heathkit three prong power cable is a unique configuration. The H-P
cords DO NOT fit.....trust me, I know. The only cables I know of that fit,
besides the Heathkit ones, were made for the old adding machines and
calculators. I managed to find some locally at a copier/typewriter repair
shop that never threw anything away. They had dropped them in boxes in the
back room. I think I got a dozen or so.
Options:
1. If you don't mind disfiguring the original chassis, you can mount one of
the later three prong sockets and then use one of the standard computer
cables.
2. You can use the three wire connection that slips over the socket pins
like Glen Zook proposes.
3. You can remove the socket and install a piece of aluminum with a cable
through a hole.
4. Possibly other solutions I am unaware of.

Hi Glen,
Looks like this cord may be close to fitting the elusive 3 prong "old style"
HP instrument power cord as well.
They are hard to find these days.
