Greg: For Malt Liquor, I'd suggest something more urban, like a sweep tube.
My favorite is he 6BG6G (not GT, GA or GB, but G). Its an 807 with an octal
base. Later versions cheapened up on some of the internal insulating
materials. My parents TV blew one (years ago) and I replaced it with an 807
with an adaptor. Lasted the rest of the TVs life.

Also, a recall, in the mid 60s, military surplus 807s were going for $1
while 1625s were 5 for $1, and the sockets were available at the local
electronics store. --Mike, WV2ZOW
