Heheh, NOT to this "picker".  I like my notes nice and sweet and clean 
(often with lots of reverb and/or tremolo).  In fact I just used my 
income tax refund to get a Boss GT-10 multi-effects pedal so that my 
sound settings are similar whatever amp I use (the one at church or the 
carry-around one I have at home).  I DON'T use the distortion settings.

As a side note, when the 12AX7 in my Fender Super-Champ went microphonic 
(I mic it and drive it pretty hard at church), a query on the local 2 
Meter repeater got me SIX of them that look and tested like new, for 
free. . .   They'll probably last me the rest of my days (I hope).  Hams 
are great people!
