Whether that's actually why he left eBay or not, it could be.  There is no 
doubt that current eBay senior management is anti-seller.  For the past year 
or so they have been pushing "free shipping", even falsely claiming that it 
had become the "internet norm".  Then they turn around and tell sellers 
(only) to raise their prices to cover the hidden shipping costs.  Most sellers 
have been smart enough to realize that if they did, eBay would get a bigger 
cut (since heretofore eBay did not include shipping costs in the final value 
fee calculation if shipping was charged as a separate item).  This week 
they calmly announced that they are about to start doing just that.  Our 
average shipping cost per sale is probably around $5.00,  I've never bought from 
any of the entities he has been but my understanding is he mostly sells 
relatively heavy items with much higher shipping costs.  So having eBay tax 
shipping would be a significant expense increase.  

I'm just hoping they don't get the bright idea to start taking a cut of the 
sales tax we unwillingly have to collect.
