Well Camden NJ is even more fun they have cut there police force in two
the State Police has to go in to assist and they require them to go in
two at a time.
Cooper hospital and the river front are safe that is where most of the
police hang out and if you are going to visit the Aquarium and Battle
Ship New Jersey park as close to the entrance as possible.
My wife works in Camden NJ at Cooper Hospital says on weekends they call
the place "the Gun and knife club city" Thank god they have guards as
big as two people. and she only works Monday to Friday durning the day.
As for Camden in the 50's and 60's the would hire anybody that had an
interest in electronic. The RCA plant was most of the river front except
for Campbell's Soup. Then there was a ship building company down to the
Walt Whitman bridge. The Flat top Sara toga was built right next to the
Walt Whitman bridge saw her go down on her maiden voyage.
as far as I can remember there was a couple of large electronics
suppler at the foot of the Ben Franklin Bridget I think one was RESCO in
Camden and one also in Phila. There was also a Radio Electronics.
Back in the day Phila had it all any job you wanted was there Phila Navy
Yard hired a lot and so did Gun Ship.
Well old memories of the area
