I had forgotten about the audio cart machines. I was thinking about the
video cart machines.
In 1968 I designed a system using a 4 track audio cartridge to hold digital
data. We put 40K credit card numbers on a tape that played back in 15
seconds at 15IPS.
That design led to the development of the floppy disk.
