Most likely a complete alignment would get it up to snuff.  There isn't 
ANYTHING wrong with an SX-110!  I've used and owned the SX-110 and the 
SX-111.

Bob - A lot of your problem is also the lack of real antennas.  Every 
radio you own would benefit from this.

Yes, *WE* also know that you have severe limitations in the antenna 
department.
