Pete,
I have an R-807 (the Soviet ART-13 copy) and the matching receiver, the
US-9 (the Soviet BC-348 copy). So far, I only powered up the receiver after
fixing the dynamotor - or rather, the miswired dynamotor unit plug. This is
one of the differences between the US-9 and the BC-348 - the US-9 dynamotor
plugs into the chassis, and the BC-348 dynamotor has a terminal strip for
connections. The receiver works great, but since I don't have the original
Soviet version of the shock mount, the receiver is sitting very comfortably
:-) on a BC-348 shock mount, and the US-9 power plug mates perfectly with
the receptacle on the shock mount.
As to the R-807, I started to make the cabling for the ART-13/BC-348 in the
ARC-8 configuration (which is going to be side-by-side with the R-807/US-9
set)... BTW the R-807 bottom slides fit the ART-13 shock mount, of which I
also have an extra one. The US-made Canon plugs fit the R-807 just fine.
When I got the transmitter, I tried the ART-13 power plug in the R-807, and
initially I couldn't push the plug inIt looked like the Canon inner shell
was a tad larger than the R-308 receptacle. I started to sand down the
shell, but didn't really take much off it, just the dirt. After it was
clean, I tried it again, sprayed both the plug and the receptacle with
contact cleaner and they mated with no further effort.
I don't have the original Soviet dynamotor, so I'm going to run the R-807
with the DY-17A dynamotor. All the connections are identical to those of the
ART-13.
Do you already have an R-807 or are you just planning to get one?
