   Sorry, forgot to mention this -

your Variac dial is not marked in 'volts' - it is 'percent of input 
voltage.'

And since yours goes from 0 - 130 (percent) its probably does have the 
extension taps and will allow you to step up the input volatge.

  So you could put 10 volts in, and at the "130" mark you'd have 13 volts 
on the wiper.  But you have to use the "100%" tap as your input for this 
to work.
