Well, it's like old radios or anything else that may interest someone:
what a seller asks and actually gets are quite often two different
things - if it sells at all. Check ebay for prices, you'll see them
listed for $4.99 to $15 or more for one card. They seldom sell.

As far as the "interest", people have been collecting paper forever.
Check out some of the prices on old letters from famous people,
historical documents and so on. Granted, QSL cards are a much more
specialized item, but some folks are still interested in them.

True, there's not a lot of interest in cards from the 50s-60s onward
since they are so common. Unless it's an old card of yours, or someone
you knew: a nostalgic connection. Likely too common for most of us to
find interesting, but perhaps some newbie can get some enjoyment out
of sorting through them.

I seek out early pre-war cards and associated documents to compliment
my collection of early radio gear. Picked up an early license a while
back that was issued to Arlington Bell 2AAC in NY just 2 weeks after
the Trans-Atlantic tests. Stamped by Herbert Hoover, Secretary of
Commerce, with a NY Customs House red stamp on back. Probably not
worth a lot of money, if any, and it wasn't issued to me. But it's
still an interesting piece of history worth saving.

Would love to build up my collection of EKKO reception stamps too, but
the time required just isn't available. And I'd rather spend what
little free time I have on the air when possible.

Anyone with useless old cards, licenses, or other old radio items
getting in their way can feel free to send them my way. I've even got
a decent start on a set of amateur radio license plates from all
states. :D
