The HRO-60 is equal to the 390A in sensitivity and signal handling but it
doesnt have but a single crystal in the filter, strictly old school. They
make a great AM receiver with about the best audio recovery around and the
PP 6V6 output is hard to beat. National built a few at the end with a
Collins mechanical filter adaptor in place of the NBFM socket. There have
also been product detectors described for them.

The HRO-50-1 is almost identical except it is single conversion at 455 KHz.

I have a 390A and RA-17 and the HRO is childs play to work on in comparison.
