You might remember, though, that to the majority of the population of the 
planet your or my or anyone else's BC-610 is worth less than junk.  It's 
heavy and would be a lot of trouble to get rid of if you got stuck with one.  
Plus I've never seen 2A3's like the two that started this thread.  I would 
have to see non-audiophool produced performance figures before being convinced 
that they were worth the increased cost of production.  But remember also 
that to any kind of collector, the commonplace is worth less than the rare.  
Even if otherwise more or less equivalent.  Consider for example the 
difference in what you could expect to get for a T-17/ARC-5 versus a T-18/ARC-5.
