Announcing the 2011
Amplitude Modulation Transmitter Rally
Contest and Operating Event
On the HF Amateur Bands (160 meters to 10 meters)
Date: Saturday, February 5th 6:00AM EST to
Sunday, February 6th 11:00PM PST (2:00 AM EST Monday, 2/7)
The purpose of this event is to encourage the use of Amplitude Modulation on the
Amateur Radio Bands, and to highlight various types of AM equipment in use
today. This event is open to any and all radio amateurs who are running full
carrier amplitude modulation (standard AM), and any type of equipment may be
used.

Though scoring takes place with a very basic points schedule, it's
more intended as a 'get on the air and enjoy yourself' event. A chance
to fire up the old boatanchor Globe King, 32V, DX-100, military rig or
homebrew transmitter.
Those of you who took part last year will recall the buzz of activity
around the bands, primarily 160-40, despite an afternoon solar flare
that quieted conditions for a couple hours. This year as the higher HF
bands have begun to wake up, who knows? The sky is the limit, as they
say.
Hope to hear and work many of you -
~ Todd, KA1KAQ/4
