This isn't particularly either on or off topic. What I currently want it
for is to start my dust collector (shop vac) when I turn on my Shopsmith
table saw. But it could have other uses. The dust collector attached to my
bead blast cabinet (BA content - used mainly on mil radio shock mount refurb)
has an accessory outlet (and a mode switch to enable or disable the function)
that I plug one of the cabinet lamps into. When I turn on the lamp to use
the cabinet, it auto starts the dust collector (which is located behind the
cabinet and about a 15 foot round trip walk to reach). I'm looking for a
commercially available gadget that I can plug into any 120 volt AC outlet. It
would have two (or possibly more) outlets on it. One I would plug a load
into that would be controlled by its on ON-OFF switch. Into the second I
would plug a load that would come on when the first load was turned on and drew
current through the adaptor gadget. And turn off a few seconds after the
locally controlled load was turned off. I could build one but I already have
enough projects that I haven't had time to get to, so would prefer to buy
one if anyone knows where one could be bought.
