Off Topic?  Well, only sorta'.  A fluorescent lamp is, after all, a vacuum tube of sorts, often having filaments and often relying upon thermionic emission, and what could be more on-topic to this forum than vacuum tubes, the centerpieces of nearly all of our beloved BA's?

I wonder what we will do when incandescents are outlawed and we need a dummy load?  Dig through the junk box for a good old incandescent?  Solder together a mess of resistors also from salvage?  Or maybe, just maybe, we could try the "saltwater dummy load" (google it).
