[Boatanchors] CFLs

A few years ago I put cool white CFLs in the lights of two ceiling fans;
one in the dining room and one on the bedroom.

The light was very cold and white. They would have been great if I were
drafting in the bedroom. I found that the very white light made the
rooms uncomfortably "cold" and unappetizing. After a few days they went
into the garage and I replaced them with warm white bulbs. At the
figurative flip of a switch both rooms became much more comfortable.

One thing that I have learned is not to select clothing under the warm
white CFLs. Don't try to match the suit, the shirt, the tie, and, in my
case, the braces under the warm white CFLs. Colors under the CFLs don't
look at like they do outside or under conventional fluorescent lighting.
   I make a final check in the hall under some good old incandescent bulbs.

Enjoy the holiday,

Ron
