[Boatanchors] CFLs made in Hungary

Shoot, John, if this is the only mistake I've made in the
last seven days, it's been a hell of a week.

Then I am wondering if I really did see a CFL made
in Hungary a few years back. I've just never seen
a Biax based lamp in the store where I think I've
seen the Hungarian made CFL.

Guess I will wander around in some of the older
hardware stores and see what is lurking in the
back corners of the shelves.

All of the Philips' branded CFLs are Chinese,
as well as all of the other name and off-brand
name CFLs. Guess in the two years, all the
Hunganese made units have been sold off and only
the Chinese units are in the supply system.

Many years ago, we had a large audio switching
console with numerous back lit VU meters. The
lighting was off the 48VDC battery system and used
two 24V bulbs in series, which we ordered by the
hundreds via the Federal Stock supply system.
Guess it was sometime back in the mid to late
1980s, even the DOD started buying bulbs made in
China.

Yuk,

73
Sheldon
