Mac, don't we all practice "greenie"
conservation, in one form or another?
I know that you've had a few cold days
this winter, at least that is what oldest
daughter in Norman tells me, when she
calls regarding another snow day.
So if it got too warm in your house on one
of those really cold days, did you turn down
your thermostat or did you leave the thermostat
in place and open the windows and doors to cool
your home?
If you really did open the windows and doors and
left the thermostat alone, yep, I will ageee
with you, you practiced the "hell with the
greenies" and apparently the cost of heating your
home was never a factor in your cost of living
equation.
If you simply reduced the thermostat and allowed
your home to cool down slightly by heat loss,
so you did not have the heating system compete
with the outdoor temps, you practiced a form
of energy conservation.
I suspect for all of us, the point of falling
for the rhetoric of the "greenies" is that point
where we don't do it totally for our own (selfish?)
pocketbook reasons.
