1 - For those of you who want regular 100W or 60W 130V incandescent bulbs,
check you HD or Lowes. Here in the Raleigh, NC area I was able to get a
"box" of 10 of each from each store. HD was considerably cheaper, btw.
2- And, for those of you worrying about the Mercury in the CFL's, you also
then need to worry about the Mercury in most fluorescent lights (i.e. your
4' Shop Lights) as they too contain Mercury.
This from the EPA Website:
http://www.epa.gov/cfl/cflcleanup.html
"These tips also apply to other mercury-containing bulbs, including:
Other fluorescent bulbs, including linear, U-tube and circline
fluorescent tubes, bug zappers, tanning bulbs, black lights, germicidal
bulbs, high output bulbs, and cold-cathode fluorescent bulbs;
High intensity discharge bulbs, which include metal halide, ceramic
metal halide, high pressure sodium, and mercury vapor;
Mercury short-arc bulbs; and
Neon bulbs."
3- Lastly, the newest type of CFL is a Cold Cathode CFL. They offer 2X
longer life, are instant on and are dimmable. Unfortunately, they are darn
expensive right now.
