The problem with doing it at audio is the AGC will be pumping away if your 
BA has that feature on AM and CW.

Ive never used a SOJ but other audio filters from passive, to tube and SS 
have always left me underwhelmed.

There was one automatic notch filter on the market 20+ years ago that did 
quite well at notching carriers but the audio sounded like s***.
So did anything from MFJ that I tried.

I still might have a DSP 599 or something like that on a shelf, forget the 
brand name but it wasnt cheap.
