[Boatanchors] Johnson 250-37 Directional Coupler

I picked up one of these recently. It is missing some bits. Both 220 ohm
resistors and
one of the diodes are missing. (I have found the section on these in the
Matchbox pdf
from the BAMA mirror).

There is a piece of wire mounted parallel to the transmission line centre
conductor. It
is about 3 long and is mounted at its centre.

Questions:
  - is there more to the sensing element than the length of wire?
  - do the 220 ohm resistors attach to the ends of the sensing element and
thence
    to one end of each diode?
