I think taking an old paper cap shell and sticking a new cap inside it
so it works but looks vintage has to be one of the wackier anal
obsessive aspects of the vintage gear world.   Do hams actually
operate their gear with all the covers off so they can admire the fake
old caps in a receiver?   Once my stuff is buttoned up I could not
care less what the components look like inside.
