Interesting discussion regarding these ultimate HF receivers.  

Years ago, I acquired a small group of photos of a fascinating Sylvania HF receiver, which, I am guessing, never
made it past the prototype stage.  Any information would be appreciated.  Photos at:

And I am still in great need of the schematic for a National R-1230 countermeasures receiver.  It is another
mechanical and electronic marvel of vacuum tube technology.
