Rob,
Not sure what you mean about non-ionizing radiation. Just about any
radiation in large enough amounts can be harmful. For instance,
ultraviolet radiation can ruin your day. Infrared can harm the eyes
(cataracts). I wouldn't want to stand too close to a leaky microwave
oven. I don't know if RF causes cancer but it can cause tissue heating.
What are the ramifications of exposure to RF from a big linear at 15 or
10 meters? Dunno. Also didn't know that the FCC guidelines are baseless.
Any documentation to back that up? Not arguing, just want to learn. I
remember that RF safety was a significant part of the question pool for
the FCC exams. I assumed it was valid. I'm not prepared to test as I'm
all out of lab rats.
As for the Tri-Phazers, the BS in the audiophile world never ceases to
amaze me. I have made the trip to the CES show in Vegas many times and
have witnessed in person some really idiotic audiophile stuff. One guy
was selling Leviton duplex AC power wall sockets for $250. He took them
apart and gold plated all the metal parts. Probably 15 cents worth of
gold. Ahh, the improved ambiance - lower lows & higher highs. Don't get
me started on the cable industry. However, being an audiophile does not
necessarily mean you are an idiot.
