If I were you, I'd stay away from RG-58 and RG-59/U if you run anything over
100 watts! Especially above 14 Mhz and higher. Too lossy! Also be careful
at VHF unless it is 25 watts or less and 10 feet of cable or less. The
stuff is really crap up there! Stick with RG-8/U or one of the foam type
replacements for that. Why spend money on an amplifier and lose quite a few
db of power on cheesy coax?

I was just looking at a chart online of power ratings for coaxial cables
since I'm putting up a new antenna.
I was considering using RG 58 or 59 as the feedline instead of RG 8. Since
I will be using a linear, I wanted

Is the chart correct in stating that RG 58 and 59 will handle a KW? The
chart gives that rating at 10 mhz.
RG 8 rating is 1500 watts at 10 mhz.
If this is correct, I'll go with the 58 or 59 because I have a whole spool
of those, but not as much of the 8.
